Cyborg R.A.T 9 Back / Forward buttons repeated pressing

Hi long story short. this is my second R.A.T 9 in a month the first had connection issues. now this one is spamming the back and forward buttons constantly. i have tried re-downloading the drivers, i have tried it on another system, nothing seems to work. a few things that are the only things that make me believe it might not be a hardware fault is that the first day i got it, it ran fine no faults at all then the second day it started spamming back and forward for no reason. it wasn't dropped or damaged in the time between. if anyone could shed some light on what might be causing it that would be great.

That's what i thought but the only thing that makes me think not is that it works fine for about 2 minutes before starting to fail. to my understanding if it was hardware related it would start as soon as its turned on.
