I am wanting to upgrade from my radeon 2400 pro but i dont have much space to fit a whole lot bigger graphics card due to the HUGE heat sink over the CPU. I have looked for over an hour trying to find the dimensions of my radeon so i can compare it with the dimensions of the graphics card i want and i cannot find any specs! I have tried to measure it with a tape measure, but im not sure how the dimensions of WxDXH are written for the GPU i want compared to how i measure my radeon. Please if anyone can provide a link or dimensions of my HD Radeon 2400 pro i would be eternally grateful to you.

I know usually they dont get in the way, but i think mine would. I will take a pic and attach it so you can see.
I just took a pic but i dont see any options to attach it in this message:( . I will try and put it as my user pic.

i see ur problem there, it wil probably accomodate a crd about an inch longer, unless it can pass below the heatsink,
u might also consider getting a new heatsink to evade the issue altogether
what's ur total budget?
btw u said u measured with a tape, how much did it come out to be, specifically the length, that's important

Sorry for the late response but it was for a good cause! I just got hired at a new company and i just got a 2,000$ sign on bonus! Because of this i am just going to build a gaming computer from the ground up! I will set the budget at 1,350 and i cannot go over it. This will be my first build and over the past few months i have read and researched about how to make a gaming computer and what are the best components to use.

The problem i have is i am very indecisive and i am not sure what i want. When i got the news that i was hired and got the sign on bonus i was set on making a gaming pc, but i am now hesitant because of the new Xbox and ps4 coming out that use 8 core(i think). If i build a gaming pc now with a 4th gen i5 quad core processor, will it be outdated and weaker because of the games coming out can utilize 8 cores?

When i discovered amd has an 8 core i thought it was my solution on future proofing my gaming pc, but all the reviews say the i5 is better even though its only 4 core...i know their is a lot more to cpu than cores, but i thought 4 more would blow an i5 away so i am now lost...

What i am wanting to ask is should i build a gaming pc now, or wait until the new consoles come out and see how that affects everything. Also if you wouldn't mind could you give me advice on what is the best, literally biggest mobo (that fits the 4th gen i5) i dont want a lot of features in the mobo just pure power, room and future proof design.

Here is the case i am going to buy. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168....

It is 8 cores but they are much weaker cores. A high end quad is still much faster.
