I formatted my USB to Fat-32 and put the files for Windows 7 onto it. I then plugged that into my new build that has absolutely nothing on it. I start the computer and it goes past the Asus menu then onto a black screen where it saids 'Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media and select boot device and press a key'. I have made sure to make my USB the first boot option but I just can't make it work which is getting me quite frustrated now. Could somebody please give me from step one if possible a guide on what I must do to get to the Windows installer screen.

Motherboard: Asus P8B75-M LX
CPU: Intel Core i5 3470
RAM: Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Vengeance Kit - Intel Haswell
PSU: Corsair TX 650W

Thanks!

I originally tried USB 3.0 but since they did not work moved to USB 2.0 using the ports on the motherboard and not the front of the case...

Admittedly it is a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit from TPB however it has worked before with other builds. I have since tested the new build with Ubuntu and it booted fine so I just can't understand why this build can't detect Windows and begin the installer.

Also after reading the page on Ebuyer for the HDD the title is 'Seagate 1TB Barracuda Internal Hard Drive - OEM' does that mean it is locked or?

Also I understand if you no longer want to help now.

I was confident the memory stick would work so I didn't bother buying one just to use one time however I can still buy one if I have to.
