Hi guys, I'm pretty much clueless here. I'm planning on buying the Powercolor HD 7870 Myst edition (http://powercolor.com/us/products_features.asp?id=430#Specification) and was wondering if my Cougar ST 500w (http://www.cougar-world.com/products/power_supplies/cougar_st.html) would be sufficient? I read that Cougar is a decent brand but not as good as the quality brands.
Also I've read that the +12v rail/s are the most important part when choosing a PSU for gaming. Mine has 2 +12v rails with 25A and 20A respectively, with 444w under them. Would that be enough?
The 7870 also requires 2 6pin PCI connectors. Mine has 1 6pin and 1 8pin(6+2) connectors. I was wondering if I could use the 8pin on that?
Any help would be much appreciated.
BTW this is my current rig:
i5-3450 3.1ghz,
GTX 550 ti,
8GB RAM,
Cougar ST PSU 500W,
MSI H61M-P31 (G3) Mobo
