Download windows 7 online (legal) when already have windows 7 (ilegal)

I built my custom gaming computer few months ago and installed a pirated windows 7. I wasn't sure if it was pirated, but now that i'm in high school, the school website offers free licensed software (like windows 7) and i can download it there for free legally. I have a 128GB ssd and im not sure if i have to delete the pirated windows 7 first or just download the legal online one. Does it overwrite by itself? I only have 35 of 111 GB left on the ssd and im not sure if that is enough. The pirated windows was the ultimate best edition and im not sure what version the school one is. Please help :( I dont want to wreck things up.

hey dude you will have to reinstall windows to guarantee that the software isn't indeed pirated.

Your probably getting windows 7 pro from your school since they require it for networks. this version is very similar to the windows 7 ultimate edition to compare use this link http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows7/products/compare#T1=tab01

You best best is to download the ISO ( Image from your school) of windows 7 pro burn it to a DVD and copy the key down the school gives you. When u install it use the key and update your drivers and windows. ( you can also install windows 7 from a thumb drive)

if your not sure how to install windows 7 properly there's a few good websites you can use this one is my favorite...

First, never pirate anything. Ever. This is why:

Lots and lots of cracked software comes with all sorts of viruses. Particularly with pirated OSes. They are especially easy for virus writers to implant because they can do so in ways your anti virus will never detect. Then you become a victim of all sorts of bad things.

Wipe your hard drive and install the LEGAL Windows 7.

And stop pirating stuff!
