So about a month ago i encountered this first time; I'm playing a game with lowest settings possible and suddenly my screen goes black, GPU fan starts to make A LOT of noise and i hear static from speakers, then i have to manually reboot the PC, just yesterday this happened like 3 times within 1 hour and after that i didn't even bother to play anything anymore, well today i decided due to the abnormal behavior check the temperatures when i'm playing some game and noticed that the temperature climbs up to over 95 Celsius within... 1 minute of running the game and before this started occurring max temp was like 80-85 Celsius when i'm playing. And yes before asking; I do keep my PC clean from the inside and do regular cleaning with compressed air and vacuum, could my card be faulty or what? The card model is Nvidia GTX 550 Ti

It is running as it should so the fan is not the issue either.

Mmh, i already had in mind to upgrade the card to GTX 660, just wanted to know what might cause this problem.

I have to wonder why the fan is not hitting 100% before it hits 90c

It never hits 100%, the max i am able to get the fan to spin is 70%, is there any programs that would allow me to make it spin at 100%? MSI afterburner doesn't allow further than 70%
