Problem Solving- PSU or Motherboard?

My Home-built PC had been going fairly well until about 5 months after it was originally built, where I began to have issues with random restarts and the machine just turning off on its own. After dealing with this a while, I concluded that the power supply's connection to the motherboard was my issue, as when I would hold the piece sturdily in place, the computer would power up normally. After some time, my computer will no longer power up, even with the previous fix. At this point, when the power button is pushed, it will light up, but the motherboard does not seem to power up (the light on the motherboard itself doesn't turn on), and seemingly the only things that do receive power are my hard drive, solid state drive, and video card. I'm wondering as to wether I should be looking to replace my motherboard, PSU, or both?
