7970 res problem

Hi, I just built my first rig with the hd 7970 powercolor v3. Everything seems normal, but i heard the 7970 should not be used anything under 1920x1080. I have a 1366x768p monitor. Is that a problem? will i be bottlenecking my gpu?

Thanks any help is appreciated. Im freaking out right now.

My buildis is as follows.
i5 4670K
msi g41 mobo
hd 7970

You're not using the term "bottleneck" correctly. That has to do with the computer's hardware, not the monitor.

Not sure where you heard that you have to use 1080p with it, but that's just false. It's just that a lot of people would want to use 1080p with a high-end card. You could've went with a cheaper card at that resolution.

It's perfectly fine to use the 7970 at that resolution if you're fine with it.

I mean, you're going to have a ton of extra power, that's not a bad thing. Every game will run Maxed for sure. If you like higher res monitors, buy one. When people say it shouldn't be used 1080, they're saying it is more expensive and you won't get many benefits over a cheaper card. You're fine, nothing to worry about.

Thank you!!! Thats what i thought, a lower res monitor would give extra performance and would help in the future.
Just in case
I get 54 fps in far cry 3 maxed with hdao and 8x msaa. No vsync
gta 4 72 fps, maxed no vsync. 52 fps vsync.
metro last light 42-50 fps 2x ssaa benchmark, no vsync.

and when running gta 4, the game gives me artifacts about an 30 minute of gameplay, but with icenhancer no problems.
