Hi guys, I have an Acer AM7720-E7870A desktop that has a number of USB2.0 connectors in the front and top. I'd like to convert them into USB 3.0 connectors. Could I simply purchase a USB 3.0 PCI-E Card and connect those internal USB connectors to the card ?

I was thinking of purchasing the Silverstone EC03B-P USB 3.0 PCI-EXPRESS Card simply due to a few reviews i've read.

Thoughts ?

You can't convert USB2 to USB3. It just doesn't work that way. USB3 has different internal connection then USB2 which while backwards compatible with 2, USB2 ports can't supports USB3 devices at USB3 speeds. This means all you can't turn the front ports into USB3 at all.

Buy a card and use them in the back. It's all you can do short of buying a new case. Which is the route I took.
