Hi. I have an Alienware Aurora with a 7950 flex in it. I want to add a second card but not sure if it will fit. Here's a link to the picture of it.

It should, but the cards will be running on the hot side due to close proximity to eachother.

The guy at the computer store told me we could point a big fan towards the cards to keep them cool. Attack it to one of the Slots and aim it at the cards. Right now when it's cool in my room the card is at an average 65 degrees under load and when I overclock it reaches the low 70s.
It was getting into the low 80s yesterday while overclocked and 75 not overclocked. I wasn't sure why it was getting so hot so I turned on the AC and the Ceiling fan and the temps dropped by a whopping 10-15 lol.

Haha I know the feel. Try to get water cooling if you can. Is more efficient cooling-wise. Or just take the side panel off and use external fans lol.

How hot do you think they will get if don't do anything special?

It really depends on what you are doing. At max load I would expect these things to be running in the 80's, under idle anywhere between 40 and 60 (depending on all the other temps) These are just estimates, though.

Your @ 75c now, single under load. Just double that. Underwater with cards that close & OC.

Well it wouldn't be "double" the temps, figuring both the cards aren't running at max load. It will be significantly high, which is why it would be very beneficial for water cooling. With a CF you also wouldn't need to overclock (for now at least)

Doesn't look ideal, especially with 7950's. You'd have the two right ontop of eachother, both with nowhere to pull air from since your PSU is right below it. You'd probably need to have fans up quite a bit.

It was 75 under load when it was hot in the room. When it's cool it's average 65 degrees without the overclock. With the overclock it's average 70 degrees. The computer guy at the store suggested I put an extra fan in and point it at the cards.

The extra fan should help, but I can't tell you how much. If it does start to get really hot and the fan isn't helping, just start a new thread later on with the focus of GPU cooling and get feedback on how to fix it.

Theres also the fact that Crossfire isn't that great, outside of DX11 theres no frame metering so its going to have microstutter and choppy gameplay compared to SLI. Maybe in your case it would be easier to sell the 7950 and get a 780, that wouldn't have any heat problems.

I know of the issue. I've been waiting for the frame pacing driver to be released to see some feedback on it. Most reviews praise the new driver. I know it only works with DX11 and I think DX10 games but don't most new games use that? I really don't want to sell the card and I'd probably get only $200 (if i'm lucky) for it. For a 780 I'd have to add another $450 and it still would not give me the performance I want. Two 7950s (especially if overclocked) should give more performance than a Titan. If I had waited a month for the 760 to be released I would have probably got that and a second one now for SLI. But I already have the 7950.

I think I'm going to call newegg and find out if I can order the card and test it out. If it doesn't work out I'll send it back.
