Hi

I am needing much help from all of you GURUs out there.

I am currently upgrading my ram to 16GB of ram "Kingston Hyper X 1600". unfortunately if I will boot to a windows 7 32 bit system everything is ok but unable to use the memory. When using a win7 64 bit OS it get stuck on "Starting Windows" screen and wont completely boot. tried going to safe mode still wont boot up.

any inputs please help Thanks!

oh okay, i think i found the problem. you have 8gb sticks of ram. that motherboard is too old to support 8gb sticks. those are pretty new. the only way to get 16gb is to have 4 4gb sticks of ram.

what bios version do you have. the gigabyte website says the latest bios F11 adds improved memory compatibility.

Hi computer_nugget2,

I already run the memory test both memory card, one ram at a time. and the results are ok no errors detected or what so ever.

Can I ask for your help on how to set RAM settings for my BIOS this is my first time using a ram higher than 4GB. And honestly I never tried changing the settings of my motherboard bios.

Thanks!

there should be a setting in the BIOS that says DRAM or Memory. go to it and change it from auto to manual (if it has that option) and adjust the values so it matches the specs of the ram you bought.

how is the ram set up. do you have 4 sticks that are 4gb? did you buy the ram separately or did you buy the whole 16gb set?
