ok so i think im having cpu bottlenecks , i'm getting 50% gpu usage in more CPU intensiveness games such as Battlefield 3 MP 64player , my HD 7970 Crossfire are all over the place on usage, this is with max settings , from like 50% when action ramps up to like 80% 90% depend's whats going on, now i could Overclock more, but honestly i don't think i'm going see as much of significant usage on my GPU's so i'm thinking my only upgrade path is ivy bridge and i was wondering get i5 version or i7? i was told HT should remove my bottleneck if i OC to 4.3 4.4ghz il buy a corsair h100i for it. any advice on trying remove this bottleneck :/ im really stumped on just OC what i have or try my luck of on ivy

Solution
Gaming wise, It will not bottleneck your crossfire setup. Even if you set 3.3GHZ with no boost. 3.3Ghz and 3.7Ghz don't make a difference. 4.3 Ghz is overdoing it. The 50% to 90% CPU utilization spike could be a CPU bound event.

i play at 1080p 120hz , you really think overclocking to 4.5 would remove my bottleneck?. alot people say its too much GPU power, but i don't play just bf3 i also like crysis 3 and the extra GPU power make huge difference in that game ^^ and i tend go with corsair due to warrenty reasons i been told corsair will reburst if liquid cooling leaks and ruins my hardware they pay for all damage goods, unlike other's i have seen tho if build quality is good on krakens.... and i would consider it...

well finding it hard to think that extra 200mhz on my core is going give me 49% more GPU usage...if anything i might be lucky 10% more.... and at 4.7 that be total of 20% possibility more usage over all if im lucky...

i'm bumping this thread before i make my final choice , still like point out i'm trying maintain as high as possible FPS on max settings , i honestly hate it when fps dips to 58 FPS and hovers around 65 66 68 for when things get bit full on , (battlefield 3 Multiplayer) and then GPU usage just drops drastically my CPU is caping at high 90+ % usage
