have been slowly building a gaming PC for the past few months, last month was RAM upgrade went from the 2x 4gb from my old HP to 32gb of 2400mhz corsair RAM(nice), well anyway when i first got it i was only picking up 16gb of it, did everything i could, all the dimms were fine they showed up in a one by one test, i was thinking about returning them but kept forgetting to.
anyway fast forward to this month and i get my PSU upgrade(XFX pro1250), installing it was the worst example of what not to do when messing about inside a PC, my AS wristband kept coming undone, i dropped screws all over the motherboard, and then had to get real rough getting the new cables plugged in(broke the clip on my pci-e cable) finally got it all done and wired right and after dropping all the screws onto the MOBO was interested in seeing if it even booted up anymore(it did). i get on and start checking things and lo and behold i now have a full 32gb of ram needless to say i was pleasantly surprised

to sakkura, overkill is the whole point when i can spend $300-$400 a month on one part

and to baesy, a 32bit OS IS limited to 4gb of memory, a 64bit OS can handle MUCH more, im maxing the AMD sabertooth gen3 with 32gb and my last PSU was a 750watt rosewill that only had 1 PCI-e cable, got the 1250watt so i can start adding GPUs going to crossfire a few HD7950s and see what happens
