I have a problem with my computer not booting up, there are two beeps on my Dell Dimension 5150C, then the error says Floppy Diskette Seek Failure, press F2 to continue, F12 for boot menu. There is no floppy drive in the PC. What is the problem and how do you fix it??? Is it my Hard Disc faulty? I have gone into the BIOS and deleted the diskette drive entry.

Thanks. I have already done this and it will still not boot. This is why I am thinking tghe boot bit in my hard disc is faulty if not the whole hard disk ?

I followed the you-tube instructions and it still will not work ! Relatively new hard disc. Probably less than a year old.

I am really hoping it is the Motherboard and the Hard Disc has suffered at catastrophic failure. RAM seems seated OK.

Addenda: Date in BIOS has changed to 31 March 2006. I am going to get a new computer. I just wondered if I can save my hard disc and back-up some files.

Going into the shop today. Computer is. Fraught with nerves as I have not done the back-up in full. Can't log on properly on the spare computer. Connection not good, very slow.
