Hey guys, does anyone know what's up with Crysis 1 and the GTX 680 FTW as I am getting 26 fps during the frozen- over ice stage at very high settings with 8xaa(but it does say when I use the r_displayinfo=1 command that fsaa is enabled)! What is the deal with that?! Especially, seeing as a youtube user by the name of batismul with a GTX680 @1.350Mhz Core/7100Mhz Mem he's getting 61-105 fps(as low as 61 during cutscenes) at very high settings(looks like aa is enabled too)! I cannot get good fps like that when I enable multi gpu in the config and run the game in sli!!! Please help me understand that guys! Thanks

Tone down the anti-aliasing to 4x, you should have higher frames.

Even playing with sli I am getting fps like that(20s) during the last stage of the game-Ascension.

I don't think crysis 1 is compatible with sli gaming.

Crysis 1 does work just fine with SLI. I've tested it a few times. However, at maxed out settings, including x8 AA, it is still very demanding. It is also easily CPU bound.

The FSAA, which means full screen AA, or SSAA, is even more demanding. You may want to make sure you don't have some FSAA injector on, or have it set with Nvidia inspector or something.

I will try that. Thanks a lot.

Turn off Vsync, if Vsync is enabled the game will lock your framerate at 25 FPS.

I believe vsync locks your frames at your monitors Hz which is usually 60.

Not in Crysis it doesn't. Crysis' Vsync is weird, if your GPU can deliver 60FPS, it will lock your framerate at 55FPS, but in areas where you don't get 60FPS, which are many, it will lock your framerate to 25 FPS. It's how Vsync is implemented in that game, so you pretty much have to turn it off if you don't want framerate drops.

If it's not the v-sync, it's the anti-aliasing. I would run it at 2x.

What happens is Vsync tries to sync up to the refresh rate. If the GPU can't output 60 FPS, Vsync ends up dropping FPS to 30 to compensate. If it can't keep up with that, you get 15. And so on. Enable Adaptive Vsync in the NVIDIA control panel to get around that limitation.

Now then: The Ice level in Crysis EATS GPU's, and 8x AA is likely killing you big time. But its possible your CPU is part of the problem; what model CPU are you using?
