what video card is best for my pc?

My processor is Intel core 2 quad Q550 2.8Ghz
RAM 4GB
motherboard is Intel DG41TY

currently video card is GeForce 9500

What video card can i get for a upgrade?

Your CPU that you have , you did mean to say Core 2 Quad Q9550 and not Q550 right?
Here is a Hierarchy Chart that is included with the article that Tomshrdware puts out each month and it shows how far down the list your current 9500 is.

Most likely a 650Ti , 560Ti or even a 660Ti would be good choices on the Nvidia side and on the AMD side a HD 7770 or HD 7850 OR 7870 would be good.
Of course it all depends on what you are wanting to spend for this upgrade. What is your budget?

the best one you can afford so down the road if you upgrade the motherboard and cpu it will all fit good. you will not loose performance if you choose a faster card then the cpu can handle but if you choose one that it can it will be too slow later if you upgrade.
