I have A dell Voctros 2510 had for Years and Now i have major problems with it So I want To restore it to factory Settings But It Will Not Let Me. Plus System restore Will Not Complete and i Only Have Three Restore Points In 4 Years!! can Anyone Help me? Please!! Retired On Fixed Income Can't Afford To Have it Fixed By a tech!! Thanks Tommy

Solution
Your best bet is to format and do a clean install of OS. Prior formatting don't forget to store your important data on a external drive.
When you first switch on, do you see anything on the black screen about pressing a certain Function key to access Recovery Mode? If not, keep switching on and pressing the power button to turn the machine off without shutting down properly. Sooner of later it will get fed up and display a Repair your Computer option.

Sorry to say Thats Not My problem!! My PC Boots To Windows Fine!! My Problem is Internet Explorer Doen't Work I Have No restore Points To Speak Of And System restore Never Completes?? Thats My problem?
Thanks Tommy

Sorry - my misunderstanding. When IE doesn't work, what actually happens? Have you tried double clicking on the actually file in case it's just your shortcut that doesn't work?

Try pressing Control, Shift and Escape at the same time then when Task Manager pops up, click the Processes tab. The from the File menu choose New Task and type in iexplore.exe and hit Enter.

Error Codes (1) 80246005 (2) 80200010 (3) 64c Also Did System Restore One More Time And It Didn't Complete!!
Error Code (ox80070005) I Also Downloaded A Fresh Version Of IE9 To Install And Guess What? That Didn't Work Either!!
Says Cannot Continue Class factory cannot supply requested Class? Whatever That means? I'am Totally Frustrated Now!!
What Do I Do Now? Have Any Idea? Thanks Tommy

Press your Windows key and R at the same time then into the Open box, type cmd and press Enter. At the Command Prompt, type sfc /scannow and press Enter. That kickstarts the system file checker and it should seek out corrupt files and replace them along with any files it found to be missing. It might ask for your XP CD in the drive in case it needs to expand fresh copies of compressed files from that CD.

Should i Have? Also Downloaded new IE9 And Windows says There is A Version on my PC Well its Not in programs and features!! How Can That be? Tommy OK I Did Everything You said And Still No IE !! Downloaded new Copy of IE9 Still Wont Open Or Complete Any Installation!! Listen Can i Just By A new hard Drive?? And Solve All My problems That way? I Have Backed Up All My Data and I have a Copy Of Windows 7 and I Have My product key ? Because I Don't Think This Can Be Solved Any Other Way? Your Thoughts/ Thanks Tommy

You can reinstall and it would probably be fine on the existing hard disk after formatting the old system out but it's a lot of trouble to go to. Any programmes you downloaded will have to be reinstalled so I hope you kept the e-mails with the licence information.

OK I Have a Copy of Windows 7 I Downloaded from The official Site And i have The Product key!! Thats All i need Right? Thanks Tommy P.S. Can't Re Install Anything?

So now you are all set to clean install of OS as I suggested you to do on my first post, you just wasted some days trying things man. Do a clean install of OS and everything will be fine. And I don't think the HDD is faulty so no need to replace it right now. Good luck.
