i wont be heavily gaming but using when im travelling and at school. also i will be doing some sound editing.

definitely teh g780 but in a smaller form factor would be more suitable for your usage

the g580 would be what id get for every day school work

you do lose the GPU and the 1080p screen however. losing the GPU may not be a big deal as you arent gaming.
