DVD Drive will not open

So far I've tried two different DVD drives, one new, and one that I originally had in the build. Three sata cables, 3 different ports and my DVD drive will not open. I've tried a new power supply, new power supply cables. Still nothing.

It shows up as a drive in "My Computer," but when I try hitting eject, it comes up with an error.

Yes, I've tried the paper clip trick on both drives, neither one will open. I'm 100% stumped here. PLEASE help.

Solution
If the paper clip doesn't open the tray, then make sure that screws are not used in the top holes; if they are too long they could lock the tray. The paper clip allows opening the tray even if the drive is not connected at all (as long as you press hard enough on the paper clip). If the drives work in another system, then you could also check the voltages. You could also disconnect the I/O cable to check if the tray works.

Haven't tried that. I will asap though. What difference would being inside or outside the case make?

The old disk drive worked fine for 3 years in this build and still works in other builds.
