I just found the new (I think) i3-3250 over on Newegg and it has a 3.5 GHz base clock as opposed to the 3240's 3.4 and 3.3 on the 3220. The only other difference is that it costs $10 more. Would it be worth the extra $10 for a 100MHz clock boost? Or should I even bother with it and just go for the 3240? Sorry, I'm cheap! :D

In full honesty Stick with the 3240 because if you would want to upgrade in the future you would not go with the 3250 you would go with an i5! So for now go with the 3240 and then in the future upgrade to an i5.

Alright, thanks for the answer. I probably won't be upgrading to an i5 anytime soon though, as I'm just considering using the i3 in a budget rig for my brother. I don't think he needs 4 cores, lol.

Well technically speaking the i3 does have 4 cores because it is hyper-threaded. Anyways if this helped alot best answer would be great :s

If you aren't buying a video card, get the i3-3245. It's identical to the i3-3240 except it has Intel HD graphics 4000 instead of 2500
