Keep freezing when left alone

I recently installed windows 8 and it occasionally freezes from no apparent reason. I think it might be freezing when left alone and not doing anything on the computer for a certain amount of time but I am not entirely sure. I am still unsure of what would be causing it to freeze and I wondered if anyone with better knowledge about windows 8 might help. I have all drivers up to date and have ran a computer scan through command prompt like i have been advised but the scan didn't detect anything. Someone please help.

Could be a failure to wake from 'Sleep' properly, hopefully M'soft will fix in 8.1, it's fairly common. Try preventing Sleep.
At start screen type 'Power' and from Settings' choose 'change power settings' then 'Change Plan Settings' and 'Put the Computer to Sleep = Never'

I have already done that. I don't know whether putting a screen saver on will fix it because when watching a movie it never freezes, just when left with a still image for a certain amount of time.

Perhaps related to your GPU driver, then.
Might be worth uninstalling and updating.
