Gaming PC to replace XB 360 instead of XB1

So I'm toying with the idea of getting a PC instead of one of the next gen gaming consoles. I'd like to be able to play games like Arma 3, and iRacing. Other than that it will only really be used for web-browsing and M.S. office. My budget is $700 all said and done and I have never built a computer before (I am an engineering student, though, so hopefully I can figure it out). I'll need a mouse and keyboard, but plan on using my Vizio 32" Tv as a monitor with its built in speakers. After a bit of (possibly senseless) research, I came up with this:

I'm hoping more experienced people can help me eliminate useless things and suggest changes that would enhance the performance of the PC without changing the price too much. Suggestions? Is using my TV as a monitor (via HDMI) going to be a problem? Will I melt the GPU? Thanks!

Solution
Theres nothing really there that would need to be replaced in the near future for gaming upgrades, that mobo allows for crossfire if you picked up another 7870 in the future yes.

You can use the TV as a monitor. I would seriously recommend bumping up the budget to $800, so you can have better quality parts the Xbox One after all will cost you about $800-920.

The motherbaord and PSU you chose are known to have problems.
The wired network card isn't really needed.
Memory, try to get 2 ram modules so that they can run in dual channel.

Everything else you had was great, I just switched things up a bit to squeze in a 7870 Ghz edition.

Overclocking isn't really something I have looked into. I just want a system that I can turn on, load up the game, and play. The 7870 Ghz card definitely looks like a sweet upgrade for the relatively small price difference. Dunno how I missed that one!

If you do want to overclock in the future, you can just buy a aftermarket cooler then rather than now, where you don't think you'll be OCing so you do not need one.

Although the 970 board is not exactly a good option for doing such.

Seems pretty decent, I think. Is there anything that seems like it would become outdated in the near future, or need to be replace to play (near) future games? Would I be able to cross-fire (or w/e its called) in the future if I got another GPU?
