Does anyone make a 3.5" bay Drive Activity LED addon?

Briefly, the new case I want doesn't have a HDD activity light on it. (Neither does my EXISTING case.)

I previously resolved this issue by gerryrigging a low amp LED from RadioShack to a wire connected to the HDD activity light pins on my motherboard, then taped the bulb where I could see it through the case side-window. Inelegant & ugly, but it works.

I don't know why so many cases don't include an activity light anymore. They are crucial for determining if your PC has crashed or is just busy. I guess they figure computers don't crash anymore (Bwahhhahahaha.)

Does anyone sell a more elegant solution? Maybe something that mounts in an unused external drive bay? (Don't tell me about Windows Tray apps that do the same thing. They suck and don't apply when I'm using another OS.)

Do you have access to any old computer cases? There are a couple of led's with long wires available in each case. Every motherboard has pins for led activity. Drill a hole in your case and glue the led to it and you're done.

Thanks. I was hoping for something a bit more elegant than taking a Dremmel to my case. :)

Something like this has just caught my fancy after a bit of searching online. Very cool, but expensive (around $35).
