ssd for os and hdd for storage issue

Right basically i recently installed a 120gb ssd to my asus p5q pro mobo, with windows 7 premium 64 bit installed. Its running on ahci just to be clear. My older hdd had 32 bit windows 7 premium installed on it, and i wanted to use it as a storage drive along side the ssd.

The hdd was removed prior to installing windows on the ssd.

However i then connected the hdd back to the pc so i could reformat the drive. To my horror i i got bsod after the windows boot logo, which flashed quickly, after going through lots of stuff on the startup repair system restore fixed the issue.

I just want to wipe the and use it as storage, and im scared to reconnect it in case it ruins my beautiful ssd!

Any help or advice greatly appreciated!

Here's what I'd do: I'd just pop out the SSD....leave the HDD in...change boot order from BIOS....put in the Win7 disc......format it(HDD) from install disc & shut down.....remove the HDD...install the SSD.....double check your CMOS and BIOS status & see if you can boot from the SSD. Shut down, install blank HDD and take it from there.
