Howdy folks,

I'm looking for a new mousepad and I'd love some suggestions.
What I'm looking for is something that will help my mouse glide smoothly and will stay clean or at least be easy to clean.

I'm currently using 2 steelseries QCK mousepads (the regular sized and the larger sized one) and I've been having to clean these mousepads every 2-3 weeks because they become caked in dust regularly.

I've heard that I'm not alone in this issue and that cloth mouse pads tend to have this issue. From what I've gathered, it seems I might want to invest in a hard mousepad. I've never used a hard mousepad before so how most people here feel about them?

The mouse I use is the steelseries sensei. I mostly use my mouse for a bit of gaming and work.

I'm considering these two mousepads:
1) ROCCAT Alumic Double-Sided Gaming Mousepad (ROC-13-400)
2) Razer vespula

I'm a little hesitant in these "gaming" products. In my experience things with "gaming" tend to be cheap, over-hyped marketing fads -that being said I do own a steelseries mouse -_______-.

Can I get some feedback on the mousepads above and any other suggestions/recommendations?

Thanks!

You're correct as to companies marketing products as "gaming" as being fairly shoddy, but there are exceptions, and the sensei is one of them - it's simply a very well built mouse.

That being said, you do realize there's no such thing as a 'dustproof' mousepad, right? It's a flat surface - it's going to collect dust. Your best bet would be one of the hardtop mousepads, as you've seen... but I tried one and returned it very quickly - I couldn't stand the lack of control and weird feel it gave me. I just use steelseries' cheapest thin cloth mousepad and it works wonderfully.
