Hello,

I want to make sure I'm not going to be going overkill with my PSU.

Here's the rest of the specs:

i5 4670k
Gtx 770
Corsair Vengeance 8gb Ram
Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H Motherboard

I'm not trying to be stingy here but I also don't want to pay more than I need to.

Thanks.

Yep its overkill you could easily get away with a good 600w unit. But if you want to SLI in the future the 750w will work aslong as you aren't doing alot of overclocking, if you are then you'd want 850w. BTW there's nothing wrong with a little overkill now and then.

For a system using a single GeForce GTX 770 graphics card NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 600 Watt or greater system power supply that has a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 42 Amps or greater and that has at least one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors. I find that NVIDIA's maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating is overly exaggerated by at least 7 Amps because they just used the same value that is used for the GeForce GTX 780.

For a system using two GeForce GTX 770 graphics cards in 2-way SLI mode NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 850 Watt or greater system power supply that has a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 62 Amps or greater and that has at least two 6-pin and two 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) rated at 45°C - 50°C ambient temperature, is the most critical factor.

Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) may require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current ratings, recommended above, to meet the increase in power required for the overclock. The additional amount required will depend on the magnitude of the overclock being attempted.

The Corsair HX750 (SKU# 75-001218 / CP-9020031) power supply unit, with its maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 62 Amps and with four (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors, is more than sufficient to power your system configuration with a single GeForce GTX 770 graphics card.

It is also just sufficient to power your system configuration with two GeForce GTX 770 graphics cards in 2-way SLI mode.

The Corsair HX750 is known to be able to produce way more than 750 Watts.
