I have been using my computer with a e2500 router with absolutely no problems at all until now. It has been a wired connection this whole time and this whole glitch happen after a headset glitch. My headset stopped working so I unplugged it than plugged it back in and that fixed that but now keyboard and mouse didnt work so IIhad to shut it down manually. After rebooting everything works fine but I have to internet. It doesnt connect to my router at all. Other computers do over wireless. I swapped the ethernet cord and got nothing. I installed my wireless card and it sees the router but refuses to connect that way either. Ive ran my norton anti virus provided by comcast and it comes up with nothing. The only thing I can come up with is to reinstall windows. And I would rather not do that

Before doing any kind of reinstall, I would check the device manager to see if the Ethernet adapter shows up there and look in the network control panel to see the adapter status. You may just need to reinstall the adapter driver, or you could have an unidentified network in the network control panel, which can be a huge headache.

Most likely then you have an unidentified network issue. You can search the forums here and see it can be a vexing issue. Often not even a clean install fixes the issue so start with the easier ideas first.

If you are using Windows 7 (which I suspect), what version?
