So long story short, I was trying to mod the config files for msi afterburner and I messed them up trying to get afterburner extreme. When I went back into msi ab, the voltage config was messed up. I reinstalled drivers and ab but to no avail. Then I tried completely uninstalling the card from the system, clean driver wipe, driver fusion wipe, msi ab wipe. Complete reinstall with drivers 13.4-13.6 and still not working. Yes I made sure to check unlock voltage control, and yes it does say that it is a 7870 hawk instead of a 7800 series. The thing is that for the driver version it only says catalyst 13.8 instead of the long series of numbers and 13.8. Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Have you tried using other programs? If Afterburner is failing you, there's no stopping you from trying something like Sapphire Trixx, unless you're completely bent on AB.

The last time I tried to use trixx it just gave me too many problems trying to adjust the voltage. Since this is an msi card I wanted to try to stay manufacturer to manufacturer. The thing that just gets under my skin is that I had this working minutes ago until I started messing with the ab configs. Then even after a reinstall, things would not go back to normal.

Just tried trixx again, will not let me boost the voltages at all and only shows the voltage of the core, not the memory
