The 7970 would still lag behind the Gtx 770, but only by 5-8 fps. If Battlefield at 50+ fps on ultra is all you want, then The 7950 would work for less.

Looks like the GTX 770 is more powerful, but if you're looking particularly into Battlefield, the difference is about 20 fps higher for the GTX 770. Though, both would run above 50 frames on ultra - FPS
Considering the price, I'd say you'd save a lot of money by going with the 7950, but you wouldn't have PhysX if you want to play games with it later on.
