I am soooo ... stuffed!

Being a half nerd, 100% dim whit ... After a week of my new Asus Z87-Pro motherboard install I decided to play with the bios. All good till I saw an update available. I clicked yes, it started ... I though coffee time. Came back, all looked fine (PC at Windows 8) start screen. Then ... shock horror ... no RAID drive, I reboot. Raid Failure, just 2 of 4 drives seen. Now I cannot even get back into BIOS, press DEL on boot, just goes to windows 8? I have some major stuff on my (old) raid disks ... prepared to pay $50 if anyone can assist in recovering this. HOPE someone know something that can assist me. At present, PC boots, I have system drive, another SSD, 2 x ecternal and a D: drive (old Raid) which says I must format to use) ... Ain't going to do that! ... seems, I think, the upgrade to BIOS set the SATA controller to ACHI not RAID??? HELPPPPPPPPPP .... MO**FU****S FROM ASUS!

Solution
Try clearing the CMOS (unplug the power cord and remove the CMOS battery for few minutes). At restart, the system would wait for F1.
Enter BIOS, set date, time and SATA to RAID. Save and exit.
And yes, by updating the BIOS, the settings are turned to default.

Hmm so I got back into bios, what you are telling me is a bios update resets the sata setup.. WTF... So raid is worth sh$t in this case? Lesson learnt. Thanks. J
