Hello. I recently bought a Sapphire 7950 Flex to replace my old 6770. Also Bought 8 gigs of Gskill 1600xmp RAM to replace 6 one gig sticks of lower frequency ram,

I have an Alienware Aurora with an i7 920 CPU in it and the GPU/RAM mentioned above.

I'm getting good performance in most games but I want more. I want to add a second 7950 now.

The other thing to do would be to get a new CPU which means a new motherboard as well. My OEM mobo won't allow overclocking of the CPU right? Since it's OEM.

Right now I can only afford to do either or. I'm leaning towards the second 7950 and the new CPU/Mobo later. Any suggestions? Thanks

I think tha sounds right the GPU option is a less expensive upgrade in the short and you can take more time to save to upgrade the CPU/Mobo later on. I say stick to that plan. Biggest thing is to make sure that PSU is up to the task how many Watts is it?

Yep I think the second card would give way more of a boost in performance than a new CPU and motherboard but would the i7 920 bottleneck the two cards?

I don't see your i7 bottlenecking it personally. I mean it's an i7. Anyhow how about your wattage AMD site recommends a min of 750W PSU for crossfire with this card?

The PSU is 875W I think. It's an ALienware Aurora. And yea it's an i7 but it is the first gen i7 and the slowest one at that. I'll just get the card first though. If I get the silky smooth performance I'm looking for that's great and if not then I know what needs to go next.
