PSU for 7970 Crossfire

I am thinking of adding another 7970 to my rig. Will my current psu be enough? Thanks for the help.

  1. Well when going SLI or CF I always like to go with 850w or above to give yourself some headroom, not only that those cards are power hogger too. Also is the CX-V2 or just CX?
  2. Not sure. It is this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139040.

Also would I be better off crossfire or just buying a 7990?
  3. Something like this:

In terms of cooling and less headaches, the 7970 CF seems like the better option :)

That PSU only has 2 6-pin PCI-E connectors.
  5. Crap. It is supposed to be "crossfire ready". Will this work http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139011

    I prefer Corsair PSUs btw.

Corsair make good PSUs but seasonic PSUs are generally regarded as the best. (the XFX one i linked is made by seasonic). There are ofcourse loads of other great PSU brands out there like Antec too.

But the PSU you've linked is a great PSU, good choice :)
  7. Corsair PSU are Seasonic, Flextronic and Channel Well with the Corsair Sticker slapped on to it.
