Is this a Reliable PSU?

Hello,

Just a simple question this time. Is the Cooler Master Silent Pro M 850W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply a reliable PSU for a build? It shouldn't fail, or do anything it is not supposed to, right?

Thanks,
Any questions be sure to ask!

  1. Coolermaster's PSUs are not the best, and for that price you could definitely pick up something better. Here's a good choice:

$135 after rebates, fully modular, 80+ Gold and from XFX. Their OEM is Seasonic, who are the best PSU manufacturers around.

Edit: Anything in the top two tiers of this list are good choices - http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx
  2. It's ok , but there are better choices , what's your budget.

  4. The XFX 850W is a reliable PSU to choose then, as I see both of you had it in your reply?
  5. Yes it's made by Seasonic and is very reliable, The PC POWER , i listed is top of the line also for $129.99.
  6. I can vouch for the PC Power and Cooling's reliability, I have the 600W model of the Silencer MKIII and couldn't be happier
  7. I love the PC POWER units also , top notch quality.
  8. So my recommendation is the PC Power and Cooling. Good luck with your build, or PSU upgrade
  9. Is there any difference in the two (XFX and PC Power & Cooling)? I'm stuck on which one to go with.

This may sound silly but, why does the PC Power & Cooling PSU have these circle like ports for the cables? I've never really have seen that type before. What is the difference between the circle type how the XFX PSU has it?
  10. They are both very similar, I would go with the PC Power and Cooling because it has a 2 year longer warranty, just in case, but you hopefully won't need it since they are so reliable
  11. Ok, great! Thank you all for your help! Much appreciated. I wish I could pick multiple answers, but sadly I can only pick one! Thanks again for all the help!
  12. Not a problem, good luck again
