Asus Monitor Won't Display 120Hz

I have a ASUS VS278Q-P & Geforce GTX 770
I am using a Display Port-DL DSPT AS-8
My Monitor will not go into 120Hz
I can Not get audio from the Display Port either
Asus Tech Support says its damaged... being brand new...

Of course you can't get 120hz, that is not a 120hz monitor.

Yes. Tell us your monitor. It most likely isn't a 120hz monitor. Most are 60 hz.

I had looked up the monitor he listed in his post. It was not 120hz.

However, you are asking about mine, which is 120hz, and it listed in my signature.

I suspect that my Asus G55VW laptop monitor is not 120HZ. The written and online specifications must be misleading. The stated 120HZ may the capability of the other hardware, such as the NVidia GTX660m controller with 2GB onboard memory. I am almost that if I connect a 120HZ external monitor to one of the available ports and install the appropriate software for it, it will be detected and the NVidia Control Panel will display the 120HZ along with the other available refresh ratings.
