You're the first person I've come across changing from Intel to AMD. I'd really love to know the full history behind the reason.

AMD is a lot cheaper. A i3 is just as much as a AMD FX 8000 series. Intel is great, but you gotta have the money. AMD is the go to if your on a tight budget.
