Hey guys I bought an MSI 7870 OC card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) and have started to have some problems. Occasionally, I will be playing a game and the screen will turn black for a short number of seconds (2-9 seconds). It also happens after I exit out of a game for a short while. I ran unigine heaven and furmark on my pc and furmark was completely fine for 30+ minutes. Unigine Heaven was fine until about scene 14 when the benchmark reached the castle area where blue artifacts appeared on the ground and walls. I played around and figured out it only happens in that area from tessellation. I havent gotten too many artifacts in other games besides a few lines here or there. The card is at standard speeds and voltage.
Also while on the desktop I`m not sure why but every couple of hours my computer will completely freeze up for up to 30 seconds and finally return and send out a single short beep. The temperatures on my cpu (I5 2500k) and my card are both low and they dont overheat. If I keep hardware monitor up occasionaly it will say that the voltage on my 12v rails, VCC3, and my CPU VTT will have at one time or another dropped relatively low. Not sure if this a power supply problem or ram or graphics card or cpu. My PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... Resolution: 1600x900
Any help is appreciated.

You ran Furmark for 30 minutes!? I hope you were watching the temps. It sounds like a bad card or a failing card. You could try a clean driver installation. Use the AMD driver uninstall app first: http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/catalyst-u...
Be sure you install the Profiles after you install the driver.

The RAM and PSU are good quality. I have used Rosewill PSUs for years for many builds. Never an issue.

Performed a clean uninstall and reinstall and went back to Unigine and I did not receive the same artifacting by the castle as before. Seems flawless there but I will have to give it a couple of days to check for black screens and freezes. Thanks for the help and if I still get more problems I will just RMA. Do you guys know how long MSI's rma is? i live in NJ, USA and I can pretty easily guess that I will have to send it all the way to CA.

Too late to send it back to the retailer?

RMAs usually take the time it takes to get to the destination, plus a couple days to verify the card is defective, and the time it takes to ship back. If I get a bad component from Newegg, I'll usually order a replacement immediately and then RMA the bad one for refund.

Another thing you may want to do, is clean your system of registry errors, junk files, and resource wasting crap. Run CCleaner and do the Clean and Registry portions both. You may have to run it more than once if your system is pretty bad,
