Hello everybody.

I've been out of the building PC for several years (05 was the last time). I'm building a desktop that can handle things that I"m on such as adobe after effects, premiere, photoshop AND I also want a gaming platform.

To do that means I need to sink money into decent amount of ram (no biggie), processor speed/cores and a decent graphics card.

I'd like you to look at the two different builds I made and make suggestions. I'm not married to anything on there but from a few days of research this is what I've found. I have a preference for ASUS (I know shoot me) but will take a similar product if the value is equal.

I'm on a budget and cannot go over 1,000 and preferably around 700 to 800 (both go over I know).

My thought process is to get a high quality motherboard, great processor and then decent graphics card. Then in a year or two upgrade the graphics card to a GREAT one.

Love to hear everyone's thoughts. Thanks.

At your budget i would recommend FX-8350 + HD 7970 over i7-3770k + 650 ti. I know i7-3770k is more powerful per single core but it will be much expensive and it restrain your spending on gfx. At least HD 7870 or GTX 660 deserves this CPU. Plus FX-8350 is good as i7 in graphic designing and u could get the AMD flagship 7970 by saving money from 3770K.

Hey dude! I also use the same programs as you and I also game too and this build is ideal! The motherboard you picked is not necessary nor the processor! You can go with an amd fx-8350 which is half the price and I do not want to say just as amazing for editing, but very good compared to most processors. I was able to fit in a 7950 twin frozr oc edition which will dominate for gaming. I also put in a great mother board and power supply and 16 gb of ram. This is the way to go enjoy!
