Budget about $100 (less if possible)

320 watt PSU. Not sure about amps, I don't have the computer with me right now.

With that PSU, you are pretty much looking at a Radeon 7750:

$89.99 + $10 MIR, Free Shipping from Newegg

Anything higher and you would probably have to upgrade your PSU as well. The Radeon 7770 is ~$100.

Don't quote me but I don't think 3.0 x16 is compatible with my motherboard. (Intel 945G)

If you have a PCI-e x16 port, its compatible. The PCI-e versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 are backwards compatible. What will happen is that the GPU will be limited to the speed of the motherboard. So the card is PCI-e 3.0 but will be limited to the 1.1 spec (or whatever your board is)

I did this as well this year, been upgrading since February.

I had a HP Pavilion p6-2002uk.

I've now got what's in my Sig.

I have to say your Mobo is a bit sucky, however one thing at a time I guess, GPU wise you really need to consider what it is you want from your PC.

Normal operational PC performance?

Gaming?

Rendering & Video?

What resolution is your monitor?

My issue for you would be if its gaming you don't want to waste money on a slight upgrade that won't get you where you want to be, however without the answers to the above I couldn't recommend anything.

That chipset supports PCI-e 1.1, so the GPU would be limited to that spec, but it will run. Should be a big improvement from the IGP you are running now.
