I am looking to get a 120Hz 3D monitor soon and i have a question about it.
This is the monitor: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/24-benq-xl2420tx-bundle-120hz-3d-full-hd-led-gaming-monitor-hdmi-dvi-1920x1080-250cd-m2-10001-2ms-pl

I know to get the best out of a 120Hz monitor i need to aim for 120fps in games but when i change to 3D do i still need to aim for 120fps? I am wondering whether it will duplicate the 60Hz/60fps image or whether it will produce the image separately for both eyes therefore using the 120fps?

Solution
I should have explained better. The setup will allow 3D to startup just fine, but because of shortcuts used by devs alot of games don't work properly in 3D. Obviously games were intended to be played in 2D, so there are effects in the game that wont work in 3D. Common things are stuff like shadows rendering in one eye, the sky being too close (appearing to be in your face), dynamic lighting rendering at the wrong depth etc.

The Helix site is a bunch of community fixes that fix issues like these.
