I have an asus g72gx my brother gave me, when i got it the screen was white so i bought a new lcd cable and screen and it just went pure black. When connected to an external monitor it works? What could cause the laptop screen to stay black. Ive tryed all the button tricks and the battery trick.

Check the BIOS to see if primary graphics is set to the screen or to an external source...also check in Win if screen has drivers and they are working
