I was looking into a new laptop for gaming which has an nvidia geforce 745m gpu in it. I was wondering if that gpu would be able to play the newest games for years to come or if it will not be able to perform well. I do not need to play games at the highest settings but I would like to play them at medium. I was interested in playing games such as battlefield 4 when it comes out so I would need a good gpu for that. Also would it be better to get a better gpu with a screen at a lower resolution because I found a comparable laptop with 750m but a lower resolution. Thanks.

With the Geforce 745M, you should be able to play Battlefield 4 on low to medium graphics, I wouldn't recommand you getting this one if you want to be able to play games that are yet to come.

What size screen and resolution do you prefer? Personally I find 1600x900 suits a 15.6'', but you may prefer more or less.

I think that 1366x768 should be paired with a 640m equivalent or above, 1600x900 should be paired with a 745m equivalent or above, and 1920x1080 should be paired with a 760m equivalent or above.

I was looking into a 15.6 and I would like a 1080p I have found a 1080p with a 745m as well as a 750m that has 1600x900. Also I have found an msi laptop that has 765m with 1080p. I would like the best resolution possible.

The best size and resolution depends on you and your preferable viewing distance. 1080p @ 15.6, you may find everything is quite small. That is about 140dpi. The average monitor is around 100. If you could link us to the laptops, that would be good. Also if you could tell us your budget, as we might know of a good option for your price range.
