Hi

I am building a gaming rig for myself and I am deciding between the 3570K or the FX 8350.
Here are my parts:

NZXT Phantom 410
Kingston HyperX 3K SSD
Win 7 HP
MSI TF 650 Ti BOOST
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Seagate 2TB

I have enough for both, but should I buy an 8350 and get a better graphics card like the GTX 660, or a 3570K and stick with the 650 Ti BOOST? Are there any notable differences in the chipsets that I should look for? HELP!!

Most all reviews indicate that you have to overclock an 8350 to equal the gaming speed of a stock speed 3570K. Once you overclock the 3570K you surpass the 8350.

I run both OVERCLOCKED , and the 3570k has the edge.

read some reviews on these based on which games you play. the 8350 does very well in games/apps that can utilize the 4 BD modules (8 cores). but for general gaming at the $200 price point I would say move up to the 4670k for the extra $10

The most important component for gaming is the video card so when your building a gaming rig the place to start is the video card and you want to get the best that you can afford. As long as you have a quad core CPU and it's clock speed is up over 3ghz you'll be able to run the video card that you choose.
If your doing video or photo editing or 3D modeling or rendering then you want to get the right CPU for the job.
