Need help choosing a SSD

I am in the market for a SSD, what would be the best SSD for the money, I am wanting to get around a 500GB SSD. I would like some recommendations, it will be about a month before I can buy one though, if that makes a difference. Thanks for the help.

I normally recommend Samsung due to their excellent performance and proven reliability. Crucial, Intel, and Plextor are also worth considering.

I maintain the ssd database listed in a sticky at the very top of this forum section. Here is the link:

The Evo is perfect for consumer use, and provides great performance for some GB write performance. For sustained performance the Pro is the better choice.
As average Joe you won't feel the difference. I would go with the Evo.

I have lost faith in Samsung products! I have a strong feeling samsung
could have tweaked their SSDs if they have successfully done the same
with their S4! I think sandforce based SSDs are the best & currently
have ordered Intel 520 which is rated good.
