I am in the market for a SSD, what would be the best SSD for the money, I am wanting to get around a 500GB SSD. I would like some recommendations, it will be about a month before I can buy one though, if that makes a difference. Thanks for the help.
The Evo is perfect for consumer use, and provides great performance for some GB write performance. For sustained performance the Pro is the better choice.
As average Joe you won't feel the difference. I would go with the Evo.

I have lost faith in Samsung products! I have a strong feeling samsung
could have tweaked their SSDs if they have successfully done the same
with their S4! I think sandforce based SSDs are the best & currently
have ordered Intel 520 which is rated good.
Hey I just bought an samsung evo ssd yesterday, it's a great ssd and you get a lot of bang for buck
in the price range, samsung only use samsung products inside the ssd and they are great on warranty
(3 years for evo 840) and an everyday user won't be affected by the difference of the 840 pro and
840 evo in terms of performance. check this out http://techreport.com/review/25282/a-closer-look-at-rapid-dram-caching-on-the-samsung-840-evo-ssd
