I plan on playing games at 1080p
games like bf3 bf4 crysis 3 starcraft 2 planetside 2 dayz World of tanks etc.

I plan on OCing it to.

and which is a good brand for 760

and which is a good brand for the 7950

Solution
if your looking for a GPU to OC then it would defiantly have to be the radeon 7950 as the nvidia 760 is a bit to risky for beginners to OC.
but i would defiantly pick the nividia 760 if it was me as its faster, cheaper and just the better all round GPU.
if your looking for the best links here they are:

for the nividia 760 i would go for the PALIT JetStream GeForce GTX 760 OC 2048MB as it comes OC out of the box.

if you really want to go for the radeon 7950 it would have to be Club3D Radeon HD 7950 Boost Edition 3GB

Hope that helps !

both have their own merits for different usage in different situations.

the 7950 will have the vram and memory speed advantage as well as upper limit overclocking potential

the 760 will have the general out of box potential and well adaptability with battlefield performmance

SC2, BF3, Planetside 2 and WoT will probably be in favor of the 760. Crysis 3 will probably go in favor of the 7950(assuming you are using SMAA and not the inferior FXAA)

BF4 will be a mixed bag. early presumptions have the older 660ti and the 670 slightly better than the 7950, but thats early testing, and on the flipside, BF4 is known to be vram heavy at situations as well. Its best to wait out and see how the polished up game is after its release

Most if not all of your games will favor the GTX 760. One of your games, Planetside 2, is one of the best showcases for advanced GPU PhysX effects that can only be enabled on the GTX 760. The GTX 760 is also an all-around higher performing card by about 10%. I don't see what's so hard about the decision.

For a StarCraft 2 player, there's no contest:

so the nvidia phyx is only for nvidia cards? also does amd have any phyx?

Yes, that is correct, GPU acceleration is only on Nvidia cards. You can enable PhysX on the CPU, but it kills performance. So for all practical purposes, PhysX is an Nvidia-only thing. Checking out those Planetside 2 videos it's pretty clear that the effects add a lot of immersion and "cool" factor. Its hard to picture that anyone would rather play without PhysX enabled when the option is available.

Forgot to mention, doesn't the GTX 760 come with a free copy of Splinter Cell Blacklist? The 7950 doesn't come with any free games these days.
