please help USB ports flickering. reads and then disconnects. 15 times a minute.

I just bought a new laptop and opened it today right out of the box. Everything is working great except the usb ports. i have put in 3 different usb sticks. one 8gb size. one 16 gb size and one 4 gb size. one after another and my computer reads it for a second than disconnects and repeat. over and over angain. i cannot us a usb stick? there are 4, 3.0's on this laptop. it is windows 7 OS. its an i7-4700mq with 8gb ram and an nividia 765gtx graphics card. whats wrong with this computer? i have re-installed the drivers that came on cd's with the laptop, even thou everything else works and the computer booted up into windows out of the box, only asking me to set up a usear account for windows.

you're surely hitting the USB power limit... laptop USB ports are generally within a hub (or 2) and each hub can only support about 1000ma or 1 amp, that's the total for the whole hub so if you one hub that run 4 ports, when you're passing the 1 amp, they shut down to prevent damage...

If you plug only 2 at the same time, does it work (try all the drives in different slots and mix them to see)

Unfortunately, this USB limitation can only be surpassed by a powered external hub (that you need to plug in AC)

PS: it's also affecting desktop but some manufacturer now offer High current USB for the front port, like Gigabyte Easycharge, MSI FastCharge and i don't remember the name but ASUS have this feature too and that can support 2.5A by hub so it's a lot more !!

the problem is it wont read a usb thrumb drive long enough at all to do anything with it. in either of the 4 ports. with nothing else in any of the ports. I install my pc xbox 360 controller and it works fine. with it unplugged, and nothing else plugged in but putting in my school thumb drive, it just wont read it long enough that i can even transfer a file. its like it flickers. reads its there than disconeccts and repeat. its only doing it with usb thumb sticks apparently. i have 3 of them. it wont read any of them. one is kingston 16gb. one is lexar 8gb and one is a little silver one im not sure what it is, besides its 4gb.

Thanks for the help btw, i really dont know what to do... it cost alot of money getting this mailed buying this computer off the internet, and id liket o take it to school tomorrow, i followed this link : http://www.zazaknowledge.com/article.aspx?cid=13756&aid=26555, as i wasnt sure what you meant and im quite positive i disabled usb selective shutdown, and it is still doing it. i currently have my 16gb kingstone in the usb drive on the left side, and there are actually 2 on the right as well. not 3 i dunno why i thought there was 4 anyways, with nothing else plugged into it. ive also tried with the laptop plugged in and on battery, i loaded up borderlands 2 with my controller plugged into the same port and it worked fine. this laptop refuses usb sticks
