I've recently updated my system and now I'm experiencing some issues. My new components are an AMD 8320, 750w seasonic power supply, cooler master hyper 212 evo, and an asus m5a99fx pro motherboard.

The issue I'm experiencing is my computer was only recognizing one of my ram sticks (Crucial Ballistix Sport VLP low profile 2x4gb 1600). Additionally, it was freezing in the BIOS and crashes before windows has a chance to load.

I've narrowed this issue to be my RAM. I threw some cheap g.skill ram (2x1gb 1066) and the computer works simply fine.

The thing that gets me is I threw the crucial RAM in my brother's computer real quick and it seemed to work just fine. Does my motherboard really not support it?

Tried installing just one stick on the first two slots (didn't feel like trying the back two b/c heatsink is in the way). The first stick of ram failed to boot at all in both slots.

The second stick of ram was capable of somewhat booting the computer. By that I mean it froze before the ASUS logo came up.

Currently have a 1gb stick of g.skill ram in the first slot to allow me to make this post.

This was my initial thoughts until I tested the ram and found out it works in my brother's computer. Additionally, I had a 2x1 kit of g.skill ram sitting in my computer earlier working just fine. The g.skill ram was utilizing the same slots as the crucial ram.

I'll see about trying my other brother's g.skill ripjaws 2x4 kit after work tomorrow and see if that works. I'll keep you guys posted.

Sorry for the third post in a row but here's my update. I took my brother's g.skill ripjaw ram out of his computer and plopped it in my and it works!
That definitely rules out bad ram slots.

One thing that I find disappointing is that both of my brothers' H61 and H67 motherboards can support my ram but my 990fx chipset mb cannot. I suppose for now I'll just take the g.skill ram and leave the crucial ram in his computer.

Hmm, that's rather unfortunate. At least my system is working now.

Reset your cmos/bios. Remove the jumper pin from pin 1-2 and place on pin 3-4 for 5 secs or so. Do this with the power cord umplugged. Then reboot. I had the exact same problem but with Ripjaws X 16 Ram. I caused it tho by manuallt setting my ram speeds higher., One of the settings diddnt agree and wouldnt let me boot. Even the MemOK button wouldnt fix it. After I reset Bios i put the setting on Auto then started my overclock over

The M5A99FX Pro 2.0 will only work on it,s own vendor list of Ram Crucial Ballistix is not listed if you look in your MB manual pages 1-14 and 1-15. I run the same MB with 16 gigs of Gskill (4x4) @ 1866
