Google Chrome used to work fine on my computer and it was able to run perfectly. I didn't use the computer for a month and when I got back on I realized that the only internet programs that will work are Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. I'm not sure what has happened to my computer since then, but I need Google Chrome to work because Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox can't handle advanced websites. The computer I'm using is very old. It's from 2002, but Chrome worked just fine before. What could have caused this to happen and how can I fix this? I've tried installing Chrome again but it just tells me "This webpage is not available" for everything I try to search and Internet Explorer and Firefox are working fine.

I had the same problem.
It started when my laptop running Win XP OS downloaded and installed the latest security patches from Microsoft on
Patch Tuesday (August 13th, 2013)......I can't turn Automatic Updates OFF!
Both Chrome and IE8 stopped loading pages after about 1 minute of working fine.
Mozilla Firefox continued working fine.
The fix is to go to Chrome - Settings - Network - Change Proxy Settings - LAN Settings OR
IE - Tools - Internet Options - Connections tab - LAN Settings .......
Go to "Automatically detect settings" and uncheck..... Apply - OK
No machine reboot required.
That worked for me.
