I would like to keep it close to $1100. Please let me know if there are any shortcomings. Anything i can improve/efficiency

Your planned rig is basically already ok.
There are not many things I can really recommend to change.

These are optional recommendation but I think they are worth considering:
1. BR burner, this will let you read and write BRs, DVDs, and CDs.
2. Better loud speaker or surround headset.
3. add an SSD (this would be the best optional recommendation, Samsung 840 pro or evo is my recommendation)
4. bigger and better monitor
5. do not forget the printer and/or scanner if you need one and still don't have it yet.
