Hi guys I recently purchased a WD30EZRX for my pc and I have installed it and it doesn't seem to be getting detected in the OS or in partition manager, what makes things worse is I had purchased a WD 3 TB external hdd and it was no longer working externally I took it apart and it was the same model too so now i have 2X 3TB of the same model and they arent working on my pc (1 Brand new one) and one that was taken out of the external enclosure. I am now troubleshooting the brand new item and will install the other one when the problem is figured out.
so here are my current specs
i7 3770K
GA-Z77X-UD3H
Intel 520 SSD 120GB
7950 radeon 3gb gigabyte
windows 8 PRO
intel 520 in sata port 1
Seagate 2TB in sata port 2
WD30ERZX in sata port 4

So I have taken the following steps in troubleshooting:
It wasnt showing up in the bios either so I updated the bios
1. Updated to the latest stable bios F18 because F19 was beta
2. It shows up in the bios from time to time but cant get it to come up in partition manager or even the dos utility.
3. checked the bios UEFI mode is set.
I really am not sure what to do from here on any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys
