Hi, I don't want to spend money going to geek squad or something for help looking up my computer.

I've been getting decent FPS on TERA, High settings on games such Tomb Raider, Dead Space 3, 60-80 FPS on League of Legends on Very High settings.

My main point is, I want to ugprade my gaming experience even higher. I mostly play TERA, and when I click the auto-detect settings, it puts me to a graphics preset to 5, but it runs like crap. I can put the preset to 3, and I'm only getting around 18-32 fps.

Enough with the backstory, where should I begin with upgrading? For starters, I have this computer here

http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-p7-1234-Memory-Drive/...

Running dual monitors at 1080p, I replaced the power supply with a 550w supply, and added an amd 6850 graphics card.

Where do I start with upgrading? I have around 500$ to use to upgrade, I was thinking about getting a new processor like an i7-3k or 4k. Would I need a new motherboard as well? Fans?

My computer gets very loud alot, I don't know what the problem is. Any help, tips, or other information I could give that I didnt list that would help in solving my problem? Thanks in advance!

As far as I understand teddyjr currently has that HP Pavillion PC.

The easiest way to "upgrade your gaming experience" would be:

Add a graphics card to your current machine. I suggest something like a Radeon 7970 (see link for $310) - bang for buck this is a really good choice at the moment.

I am not sure if your power supply can support this big card, incase it cant, please see link for a new PSU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

and then you can see if you can fit some fans in your PC.

Only things you need to make sure of before doing this is: check that the graphics card will actually fit in your case.

PS:
I think your current hardware wasn't a good buy in the first place. By adding this graphics card you will be able to play games with decent graphics level.

Going forward, I think you should look at replacing your entire machine - except the new graphics card that you will be buying shortly.

My current setup is the PC listed in the OP, with a replaced 550w power supply, and a AMD Radeon 6850.

Would a new graphics card really be the only best way to improve my gaming experience? How would adding an i7-3k or i7-4k and a new motherboard help me?

ahha its a A6 well crap... you might as well just build a new computer and dont go intel dude its so expensive unless you plan to use the HT for an I7, you might as well get the FX chips like the FX-6300 and a 970 board unless you plan to SLI/Xfire in the future ~

Check out my comment after PS:

I agree, your PC has reached a level where it woulnt make sense upgrading it any further. I would rather build a new PC.

heres a suggestion on what you can do to start rebuilding your PC

Rosewill REDBONE U3 Black SECC Steel USB 3.0, eSATA, 3x 120mm Fans Mid Tower Computer Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 Desktop Memory Model CMY8GX3M2A1866C9B (Blue)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
ASRock Z77 Extreme3 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I53570K
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Total Price: ~$460

just butcher your HP PC for all the other parts to make it a complete PC.

Hope this helps

So how big of an upgrade would all of this be? It seems to be looking great at the moment, thanks so much for your help!

I think this would be a significant upgrade, I also believe that this is a somewhat future proof build for the next 2 years.

you could essentially build a new computer based on the parts that you bought to upgrade, and still use that HP as a server or just a work station -

just a idea of an AMD route ~ http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/
